I blame spring

I plan to move to another city sometime during the next six months. Even though there are a lot of things about the move which make me worry (not only the practical part, though I do admit that when I think of packing, renting a lorry, and hauling my stuff from one place to another for the fourth time in the past five years I do feel a bit overwhelmed), I've already spent ages scouring the net for ideas for my new-home-to-be. Then I remember that my budget is zero.
However, I have already decided that the first new piece of furniture I'm going to acquire is an Ikea Hemnes cabinet with glass doors, in black. And somehow, without my notice, yellow has sneaked in to my kitchen dreams. Yellow! And a proper lemon yellow at that. I never considered it as a colour I'd like to see every day.

I guess it all began rather stealthily when I recently remembered I already possess these lovely things: A tea towel by Lisa Jones and a small Siirtolapuutarha mug from Marimekko (by Maija Louekari, one of my long time favourites, and Sami Ruotsalainen). Presents from my friends H and A. I know, I'm no Photoshop wizard...

Then I remembered, that the Marimekko fabric I covet, Puutarhurin parhaat (also by Maija Louekari) is available in yellow as well as in black & white. AND there is this awesome print by the Etsy seller Dear Colleen. Which clearly must hang in my kitchen. And then...

Some of the things I actually would like to have very much, like that Kenwood coffee maker - though  I'm not sure about the colour - and some I just threw in for fun. We'll see, though. At least I won't be able to make any rushed decisions on this, because I won't have the means to fulfil my interior plans until much later. And really - lemon yellow?? I blame spring.

And this blog - black and yellow look so good there!
